AguaEmpowers is Helping our earth flow.
AguaEmpowers is committed to improving the safety and quality of life in underserved communities such as rural areas in Asia and refugee camps by ensuring access to clean, safe water. We utilize advanced water filtration technology, advocate for meaningful local policy reform, and partner with global NGOs to address the consequences of industrial pollution and aging infrastructure. With over half of adults worldwide lacking trust in public water sources even in developed countries, single-use plastic bottles are increasingly consumed. Through transparent water testing reports, and innovative technologies, we aim to mend this trust.

We take four steps to begin our journey towards water security.

I made and sold jewelry out of scrap clay and thrifted beads on my online shop: purifyjewels.com. 100% of the proceeds were used to host environmental lessons for Impoverished youth as well as donations to environmental organizations, such as 100K Trees for Humanity. We also sell pop up tea bags in our business called PurityBrew, that are designed in RYSS Labs. to covertly reduce heavy metal consumption over time from drinking polluted water. In California, heavy metal in sources is small and unnoticeable, but over time it can accumulate.
We believe education is the foundation for every children's future. We buy environmental science kits and taught kids about water safety. By hosting weekly lessons at Alameda Point Collaborative's Youth Education Center, we hope to provide impoverished children with the knowledge needed to become future advocates for sustainability and equity. When spreading water filters to other countries, we educate the students on how to use them sustainably and safely.
Through selling homemade jewelry and sustainable tea bags, partnerships with LifeStraw and Sawyer, water filtration companies, we distribute water filtration kits to students in developing and impoverished areas.
Through discussions about environmental policies and initiatives with Alameda City Staff, I am able to brainstorm and advocate towards industrial, economic, and social practices for a more equitable and sustainable community.
OUR PROJECTS

CLEAN WATER CAMPAIGN FOR CHINA
In partnership with LifeStraw, our nonprofit AguaEmpowers provided 200 water filtration kits to families of students at The School of St. Jude in Tanzania, where groundwater contamination and limited infrastructure make safe drinking water scarce. Each kit, assembled by 70 California volunteers with handwritten Swahili notes, filters up to 1,000 gallons and delivers over 200,000 gallons of clean water. The project improved health, reduced school absences caused by waterborne illness, and empowered girls and families through reliable and sustainable access to safe water.

CLEAN WATER CAMPAIGN FOR CHINA
In partnership with Sawyer, our nonprofit provided water filtration kits to 55 students and 5 staff members, who were given 50 more kits to distribute, at Shouchun Middle School in China, where industrial pollution has made tap water unsafe, and single-use plastic bottles depended on. Along with educational materials in Chinese and a Mandarin-language presentation on water safety, the project reduced plastic waste and empowered students to access clean water and make informed, sustainable choices.

Camp 510 Water-related Natural Disaster Experiments
During the Coronavirus pandemic, children were cut off from their daily education, and their brains were deprived of academic stimulation. I wanted to not only reinvigorate children's passion for learning, but also educate children on water-related natural disasters, such as tsunamis, waterspouts, and emphasis emergency safety precautions. At Camp 510 in Berkeley, CA, the children were excited to watch their waterspouts spin in their bottle, and dig for gems as they learned about rock weathering!

APC Center for Impoverished Youth Water Safety + Equity Weekly Lessons
Without proper foundational education, children cannot grow up with the passion to pursue environmentally friendly practices. Alameda Point Collaborative Center for impoverished youth is home to over 200 children who are directly impacted by poverty, resulting in a lack of education and opportunity. These students are 2-3 grade levels behind on average. I fundraise to host weekly, hands-on lessons about water safety and engaging environmental science experiments.

Fundraising Shop
I handcrafted jewelry out of thrifted beads, charms, and chains from high school student's unworn necklaces. I have raised over $1,500 since starting my shop. Partnered with multiple local youth organizations in both the Bay Area and Northern China, I put 100% of my proceeds towards buying lesson materials for impoverished youth centers as well as donating to environmental organizations such as 100K Trees for Humanity.
